WORLD VOYAGERS

Sydney marine surveyor Jamie Morrison and maritime writer Niki Perryman met while ocean racing in Papua New Guinea.  In 1992 they set sail from Sydney Harbour in their classic wooden boat Siandra, and have since practised their respective professions as they slowly voyage around the world.

Jamie's shipwright and marine surveying work determined Siandra's course over the years and led to the pair's involvement in some fascinating boat projects in unlikely corners of the globe. (Perhaps the most bizarre job was building a blue water cruising yacht for a Norwegian businessman, during Siandra's winter above the Arctic Circle at 70° North.)  Niki chronicled many of their adventures in her regular columns and feature articles for international boating magazines.

Between work sessions, Siandra carried Jamie & Niki some 75,000 sea miles.  The couple completed their first circumnavigation in 2005.  In recent years they have sailed fewer cruising miles, but when they do get a chance to escape from work they enjoy exploring Southeast Asia.

Siandra is a 35' Lion Class, honoured in Australia for winning the 1958 and 1960 Sydney-Hobart Races.
